Less than two weeks into the new year, on January 12, 2010, a devastating earthquake rocked the island nation of Haiti killing tens of thousands of people, with an estimated death toll listed by some sources to be as high as 200,000. Hundreds of thousands of homes have been either damaged or destroyed leaving an estimated 1 million homeless.

With all of the hype and sensationalism that has been stirred up by the media regarding the H1N1 virus or Swine Flu, as it is sometimes called, I felt it necessary to bring some clarity as well as caution regarding this issue.

Even though I have felt the stirring to address this issue weeks ago, I decided to wait a while to see if any reputable prophets or ministers in the Body of Christ would speak out to bring further insight and instruction regarding what is going on at present. Sad to say, I am yet to hear of any.

With the recent outbreak of a new influenza (an infectious viral disease noted for its symptoms of respiratory tract inflammation, fever, muscle pain, etc., and believed to be spread mainly on a person-to-person level through the infected person's cough or sneeze) called the Swine Flu in North America and Mexico, there has been some concern over the health risk that this new pandemic poses to people both regionally and globally.

By now, everyone is aware that there is a serious financial crisis that extends way beyond the borders of the United States of America and is affecting nations globally here on earth. Since the beginning of this crisis, many "prophets" and "seers" have come out of the woodwork with visions and prophecies of doom and darkness upon the United States and several of the nations with which we are currently aligned. This became even more pronounced with the election of President Barak Obama to the highest public office of the United States. Many church leaders and pastors felt that he was too liberal, stubbornly opposed to Judeo-Christian values such as protecting the life of the unborn and protecting the sanctity of marriage as being between one man and one woman, to be God's choice for the presidency. As a result of this, many of these leaders immediately rejected him as they cautioned their congregants and followers to prepare themselves for the worse.
