Dear Community,

This has been a season of intense trials and transition for us as well as many others in the Kingdom. We have entered into a time of crisis where our faith in God is being tested, but we want to encourage you to continue to stand strong through these storms.

Happy Independence Day America!

On this day when Americans celebrate their 234^th year of declared independence (technically, independence was won in 1783 after the war, which would make it their 227^th year), I felt impressed to repost a portion of a newsletter that we wrote shortly after Independence day two years ago. Even if you are not American, I believe that the principles and values communicated in this short essay will empower everyone – regardless of country or nationality – to become better citizens.

Happy Father’s Day!

Every year we usually set aside one day – today – to recognize, honor and celebrate fathers. I thoroughly endorse this practice, not primarily because I myself am a father, but because we live in an era when true fatherhood, and also manhood, is being constantly eroded and its value diminished. The importance of fathers can never be overstated. Everything we experience in the Kingdom, as well as our earthly sojourn, is hinged upon the activity and ultimate legacy of fathers. To put it simply, next to God, fathers are the single most important agency for shaping, influencing, and in every possible way determining the course of our lives and destiny. I say this with no disrespect to mothers who are highly valuable and important in their own right, but Scripture more than confirms this fact.

Recently, the Lord has been reminding me of the 1999 hit movie called The Matrix. It was a movie that took the entertainment industry by storm and totally revolutionized film-making with its spectacular visual effects, using a ground-breaking technique called bullet time that allowed the viewer to explore a moment progressing in slow motion as the camera appears to orbit around the scene at normal speed. But the true value of this movie was not its ground-breaking visual effects, its cast of actors, or its success at the Oscars. Its true value comes from its ability to communicate some powerful prophetic truths regarding our lives on this planet and its present reality.

It has been so long since I last viewed this movie that I felt strongly compelled to acquire a copy of it for review. For those of you who have not seen this movie, I would strongly recommend either renting or purchasing it so you can view it at home. Even though it was filmed over ten years ago, the message it communicates is as valid today as when it was first released. And even if you have viewed it, view it again; only this time let it be from a biblical world view.

We wanted to take this time to express our heartfelt love, thanks and appreciation to each of you who have been a part of our community and supported our embassy in the work we are doing to establish God's rule and Kingdom in the earth. We know that this has been a difficult year for many, with challenges ranging from the global economic recession to the H1N1 (Swineflu) pandemic that has posed a health risk on a global scale. As creation rushes forward toward the return of our King and the end of all things (pertaining to this natural earth and order), it has become very important that we be aligned with those who can properly discern God's voice and help position His Kingdom citizens, called the Church, to execute what Jesus has finished and help hasten His return.

This is beyond doubt a key time and season to be plugged into God now more than ever. Many things are changing on a global scale, and while the world is becoming a "smaller" global village with the use of modern technology and the internet, it seems as if we are becoming more impersonal and isolated as a people as well. The concepts of community and fellowship are foreign to this new generation, and seem to have gotten lost in the whirlwind of change and technological advances that now enable us to do almost anything without leaving the comfort of our homes - including shop, study or attend college, work, transact business such as online banking, investments or trade, watch the latest movies, etc.
